Musk surprised business.

He led Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter, Neuralink, and Boring Co. in a few months, becoming the world’s most powerful CEO.

Musk has also become a global CEO in politics and geopolitics.

Musk sees himself as a world-changing innovator and entrepreneur. Thus, he tackles all humanity’s pressing issues.

He has gained media attention for both his business and personal life by doing so.

Alleged Affair

Musk considers himself influential. He openly expresses his emotions and struggles to connect with people.

The Wall Street Journal reported this summer that Musk had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the wife of Sergey Brin, in December 2021 in Miami.

The computer tycoon and Brin’s friendship ended after this brief affair, the newspaper stated, citing sources.

Brin, who filed for divorce in January 2022, directed his counselors to sell all his personal assets in Musk’s enterprises, the WSJ claimed. Brin supported Tesla during the 2008 financial crisis. Brin’s investments in Musk’s enterprises were not disclosed by the newspaper.

The WSJ stated that attorney Shanahan is seeking $1 billion in the divorce, despite a prenup.

Musk denied having an affair with Shanahan on Twitter hours after the WSJ report was published, calling it “character assassination.” He said Brin was still his friend.

“This is total bs,” Musk tweeted on July 24. “Sergey and I were at a party last night! In three years, I’ve seen Nicole twice with many others. No romance.”

Brin Sold Tesla Stock

Bloomberg News says that Brin sold a substantial block of Tesla shares months after the reports and denials, citing IRS records.

During Musk’s alleged affair with Brin’s wife, Tesla sold $366 million in shares over four days starting Dec. 14, 2021.

Brin sold Tesla at $319. After a 65% stock-price drop in 2022, the electric vehicle maker’s stock is around $165.

Brin founded health and climate change NGO Catalyst4 using the proceeds from this sale. The foundation is “supporting breakthroughs in the treatment of neurological disease/disorders, and in efforts to mitigate and reverse the effects of climate change.”

Catalyst4 gives Brin tax incentives and political power.

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranks Brin 10th in the world with a $93.2 billion net worth as of April 23.
