1991 Longview AAON. In 2020, the business began producing its SA Series self-contained units here and constructed a $40 million, 200,000-square-foot expansion that created 250 employment in 2021. AAON planned to double expansion later.
The company is pushing through with those ambitions, with LEDCO offering a $1.5 million incentive over four years provided it invests at least $36 million and produces 200 jobs. LEDCO also recommends Longview give the corporation a 10-year tax break on the investment and Gregg County give a five-year abatement.

Completed apartments
The Flats, a new apartment building on Eastman Road across from Forest Park Middle School, is half-leased just two weeks.
Beechwood Properties built the units.
The three-story property offers 24 units, including many with handicapped accessibility, according to Property Manager Donna Childress.
Each unit has a full-size washer and dryer, stainless steel appliances, and ceramic countertops.
One-bedroom units cost $1,100, two-bedroom units $1,325 and three-bedroom units $1,550.
Mall opening
Victoria’s Secret neighbor Daily Thread opened at Longview Mall.
“Known for affordable fashion with clearance prices as low as $5,” the mall said, the business sells women’s clothes in sizes XS–XXXL.
“Our guests are always changing and evolving, and at Longview Mall we want to be able to offer them today’s top trends and shopping destinations,” said mall general manager Kelly Overby. “We look forward to welcoming guests to Daily Thread and creating memorable community experiences.”
Longview Mall is open 10 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Saturday and noon–6 p.m. Sunday.

The Marshall satellite office of the University of Texas at Tyler-Longview Small Business Development Center moved downtown.
East Texas Baptist University and the Marshall Economic Development Corp. supply the new Synergy Park facility at 100 North Bolivar St. SBDC Marshall will share MEDCO’s second level.
